Traditional Afternoon Tea Reservations

 

Booking Terms & Conditions

Please read our booking terms carefully before making a reservation at The English Rose Cafe.

1. Reservations & Arrival

Bookings are exclusively for our full Traditional Afternoon Tea menu.

  • We kindly ask all guests to arrive at least 5 minutes before their reservation time.

  • Tables will be held for a maximum of 10 minutes after the scheduled booking time.

  • We reserve the right to release your table to other guests, particularly if other Afternoon Tea guests are waiting.

  • We may not be able to seat you if you arrive more than 5 minutes before your reservation begins.

2. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or reductions in party size.

  • A £25 per person fee, including children, will apply to cancellations made less than 24 hours before the reservation, no-shows, and guests who arrive but decide not to have Traditional Afternoon Tea.

  • If you change your mind upon arrival and choose not to have Traditional Afternoon Tea, you will be charged the cancellation fee of £25 per person.

For all reservations, card details are required to secure your booking. These are securely processed and stored by our third-party payment provider, Stripe, and will only be charged in accordance with our cancellation terms.

By making a reservation, you agree to The English Rose Cafe's booking and cancellation terms.

3. Menu & Drinks

Traditional Afternoon Tea is served as a set menu.

  • Drinks included in the set menu cannot be exchanged for alternatives.

  • Alternative drinks, such as hot chocolate, are available at an additional charge.

  • We cannot offer refunds, replacements or amendments based on personal taste or individual preferences.

Please note that reservations are specifically for Traditional Afternoon Tea. We cannot guarantee that your table will remain available if you decide not to have Afternoon Tea, particularly when other guests are waiting to be seated.

4. Children's Afternoon Tea

We welcome families and offer Children's Traditional Afternoon Tea for children aged 11 and under.

Guests aged 12 and over who order from the children's menu will be charged the standard adult price of £38 per person.

5. Dietary Requirements

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate gluten-free or coeliac dietary requirements due to the risk of cross-contamination.

For other dietary requirements such as vegan, lactose-free or nut allergies, please ensure this is highlighted at the time of booking.

Please inform us of any dietary requirements at least 36 hours before your reservation.

6. Meal & Sharing Policy

As a small, independent family business, we greatly appreciate your support.

To help us continue providing the best possible experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that each seated guest orders a meal.

If guests choose to share one meal, a £10 surcharge per person sharing will apply, including the guest whose meal is being shared.

7. Communication

Please note, our emails may not be monitored consistently throughout the day, especially during peak times. We kindly ask our guests to provide notice of any changes at least 36 hours in advance or use the online booking system to cancel reservations 24 hours ahead to avoid the £25 pp charge.
